The Roam for a Home Foundation was formed in 2001 to be a vehicle to develop and establish a charity motorcycle ride (Roam) to benefit charities as directed by the board of directors of the Foundation. We established two main goals for the Foundation and they are our focus for doing what we do.
Our first goal is to increase awareness of the charity and the benefit that the charity provides in a community. It is also to increase awareness of other charities as directed by the board. To reach this first goal we assemble a group of individuals with a common interest (motorcycling) to create a ride that will create awareness among the participants and others for what a charity does and thereby create an event that will bring further attention and awareness to that charity or charities in the communities we visit.
Our second goal is to simply be a vehicle to raise funds for charities. The Foundation is a Texas non-profit foundation established for the purposes set out above. The Foundation is made up of officers and directors as set forth in the Foundations charter and by-laws. The officers and board of directors are listed on this site.
The Foundation would not be able to begin its work without our namesake. Two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Terry Labonte, a member of the board of directors and founder of the ride, is the leader of the "Annual Terry Labonte "Roam for a Home". Terry is a true champion in every sense of the word and holds this ride dear to his heart. Terry's wife, Kim, is also involved in different aspects of what the Foundation is doing and their commitment to the Foundation and the "Roam" make this a truly unique event.
